Who we are
Habib Tours Sri Lanka ("we", "us", "our") is a tour operator and travel agency based in Nawalapitiya, Sri Lanka, operating the website www.habibtourssrilanka.com. If you have any question about this policy or about how we handle your data, contact us at info@habibtourssrilanka.com.
What information we collect
- Enquiry details you give us. Your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country, travel dates, group size, budget range and the details of the trip you describe.
- Review submissions. Your name, country, email address, star rating and review text, plus a photo if you choose to supply one.
- Booking information. If you book with us, the passport and flight details necessary to arrange hotels, transfers, park permits and internal travel.
- Technical information. Standard server log data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, collected by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry and prepare an itinerary and quote.
- To make bookings on your behalf with hotels, guides, drivers, national parks and other suppliers.
- To contact you during your trip and provide 24-hour support.
- To publish reviews you have submitted for publication, showing your first name, surname and country — never your email address.
- To meet our legal, accounting and insurance obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not add you to a marketing list without your consent. If you do consent to hear from us, you can withdraw that consent at any time by replying to any message or emailing info@habibtourssrilanka.com.
Legal basis
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, we rely on: performance of a contract to arrange and deliver your holiday; legitimate interests to respond to enquiries and operate the website securely; consent to publish a review or send optional marketing; and legal obligation for records we are required to keep.
Who we share it with
We share only what is necessary, and only with:
- Hotels, guides, drivers, safari operators and other suppliers delivering the services in your itinerary.
- Our hosting and infrastructure provider, Netlify, which processes website form submissions, review data and server logs on our behalf.
- Payment providers and banks processing your deposit or balance.
- Authorities where we are legally required to disclose information.
Some of these providers are located outside Sri Lanka, so your information may be transferred internationally. We only use providers that apply appropriate safeguards to that transfer.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted within 24 months. Booking records are kept for seven years to meet accounting and insurance requirements. Published reviews are kept until you ask us to remove them.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising cookies and does not track you across other sites. We do not run third-party advertising pixels. Any cookie set is strictly necessary for the site or form submissions to function.
Your rights
You may ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it. You may also ask us to remove a published review at any time. Email info@habibtourssrilanka.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Security
The site is served entirely over HTTPS. Enquiry and review data is stored on managed infrastructure with access restricted to the members of our team who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we will notify you promptly if a breach affects your personal data.
Children
We do not knowingly collect data directly from children. Where a booking includes children, we collect only the details their parent or guardian provides to us for the purposes of the trip.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page always shows when it last changed.
